The Bangkok Mass Transit System, commonly known as the BTS Skytrain, is an elevated rapid transit system that revolutionized the city’s transportation when it first opened in 1999. Over the years, the system has expanded to cover major areas of the city, making it a vital part of Bangkok’s urban fabric.
The BTS Skytrain consists of two main lines – the Sukhumvit Line (light green line), running north to south, and the Silom Line (dark green line), running east to west. These lines intersect at Siam Station, providing seamless transfers between them.
Tickets are available at every station, with both single journey and stored value options. The stored value card, known as the Rabbit Card, offers convenience and a slight discount for frequent travelers. Fares are distance-based, making it an affordable option for short and long distances alike.
The service operates daily from 6 AM to 12 midnight.
